Daily Report lets whoever writes a subcontractor's daily report, whether a foreman, super or project manager, talk through the day and send a signed PDF to the GC. It is free on iPhone and Android and needs no account, so each person can install it and start the same day.

The report is saved on the phone of the person who wrote it, and the PDF goes wherever you send it. Send it to the GC and to your own office, and your company holds its own signed copy of each day.

Why the sub's own daily matters
In Slone Associates v. United States, No. 18-669C (Fed. Cl. July 14, 2023), a subcontractor's original daily report for one day showed one foreman inspecting for two hours. A report compiled years later for the claim showed two workers for four hours. The court credited the reports written that day, because nobody explained why the two disagreed.
Rolling it out
Each person who writes dailies installs the app from the App Store or Google Play. There are no accounts to set up.
Questions
- Does the GC need the app to read my report?
- No. The report is a PDF, so anyone can open it.
- Can I fix a report after I send it?
- You correct a signed report by signing an amendment: a new version that names the version it replaces. The original is kept, and the amended PDF is marked as amended.
- Does it work in Spanish?
- Not yet. The app works in English today.
- What does it cost?
- The app is free on iPhone and Android. Company plans are coming.
